AI for Normal People is a genuinely non-technical place to start: what AI is, what it can do, where it fails, and how to use it without swallowing the hype.

Who this is for

People with busy lives, not AI hobbies.

Book 1 is written for people who have never used an AI tool, or who tried one once and weren’t sure what to make of it. Everything is explained in plain English, with no maths, coding, or jargon to learn first.

You already use AI more than you might think: Netflix recommendations, traffic estimates in Google Maps, the spam filter in your inbox, and your bank’s fraud alerts. The book starts there. Then it shows how to use chat assistants sensibly and check what they tell you, so you can get back to the other things you have to do.

A useful first principle

AI is not magic.

It is software that finds patterns and makes predictions. That idea is simple enough to remember and useful enough to cut through a surprising amount of nonsense.

What would you like to understand?

The book moves from how AI works to using it at home, at work and in creative projects. It also tackles invented answers, privacy, jobs and the claims behind the headlines.

A five-book progression

Start with understanding. Go technical only if you want to.

The later volumes are a working direction. The first book is complete; its publication date is 29 October 2026.
